The Old City is the town center of Chiang Mai. It has a long and fascinating history. 

Tha Phae Gate is a cultural hub, frequently hosting festivals, street performances, and local markets. The bustling Sunday Thapae Walking Street is the largest walking street in Chiang Mai. It starts from Thapae Gate, extends along Ratchadamnoen Road to Wat Phra Singh, a total distance of about 1 kilometer. It is a must-visit, offering a wide array of local crafts, food, and entertainment and a popular spot for tourists and locals alike.

ปี 2025 การค้าชายแดนไทย–กัมพูชาต้องเผชิญกับความท้าทายครั้งใหญ่ เมื่อด่านชายแดนหลายแห่งถูกปิดชั่วคราวเพราะปัญหาความตึงเครียด ส่งผลให้การขนส่งสินค้าทางบกที่เคยสะดวกและรวดเร็วต้องหยุดชะงัก ธุรกิจจำนวนมาก โดยเฉพาะผู้ประกอบการ SME และผู้ส่งออกสินค้าอุปโภคบริโภค ได้รับผลกระทบโดยตรง

ท่ามกลางสถานการณ์ที่ไม่แน่นอน ผู้ประกอบการไทยจำนวนไม่น้อยหันมาใช้เส้นทางใหม่ ทั้งการส่งออกทางเรือผ่านท่าเรือในจังหวัดตราดไปยังท่าเรือสีหนุวิลล์ หรืออ้อมผ่านลาวและเวียดนาม แม้จะเพิ่มต้นทุนและใช้เวลานานขึ้น แต่ก็เป็นวิธีที่ช่วยให้การค้าดำเนินต่อไปได้

แม้การเดินทางของสินค้าในวันนี้จะยังไม่ง่ายดาย แต่ทุกก้าวเล็ก ๆ ของการเจรจา เราก็หวังว่าจะพาเส้นทางการค้าระหว่างไทย–กัมพูชากลับมาแข็งแรงได้อีกครั้ง

In 2025, cross-border trade between Thailand and Cambodia faces significant challenges. Several border checkpoints were temporarily closed due to rising tensions, disrupting the once-smooth flow of goods. Many businesses, especially SMEs and exporters of consumer products, were directly affected.

Amid this uncertainty, Thai businesses have turned to alternative routes. Some are shipping via the port in Trat to Sihanoukville, while others are rerouting through Laos and Vietnam. Although these options increase costs and travel time, they allow trade to continue.

While moving goods today is still not easy, each small step in diplomatic negotiations brings hope that trade routes between Thailand and Cambodia will regain their strength.

 เมื่อมาเชียงใหม่เป็นอีกหนึ่งเมนูที่ควรลอง สามารถหาทานได้ง่ายมีเกือบทุกที่ในเชียงใหม่ แต่ขอแนะนำร้าน “ขนมจีนสันป่าข่อย” เป็นร้านขนมจีนที่ตั้งอยู่ในตลาดทองคํา มีที่นั่งเยอะราคาถูกมากๆ เริ่มต้นที่ 30 บาท มีน้ำยาให้เลือก 6 อย่าง ที่ห้ามพลาดเลยคือ น้ำเงี้ยว รสชาติเข้มข้นอร่อย ไม่เผ็ด ร้านขนมจีนได้ Michelin Guide มา 6 ปีติดกัน ตั้งแต่ปี 2020 – 2025.

Nam Ngiao is an auspicious food of Northern Thai, often served at merit-making ceremonies. It's a curry sauce eaten with Kanom Jeen noodles or rice noodles.

It is typically served with pickled cabbage, pork rind, shredded cabbage, bean sprouts, fried chiles, top with fried garlic, chopped spring onions and coriander. Each locality Nam Ngiao has its own unique difference.

When in Chiang Mai, this is another dish you should try. It's easy to find and available almost everywhere in Chiang Mai. Particularly　we recommend "Khanom Jeen SanPaKhoi" a khanom jeen shop located in the Thong Kham Market . It has plenty of seating and is very cheap, starting at 30 baht. There are six different curry dishes to choose from. The one you shouldn't miss is Nam Ngiao, which has a richly, delicious flavor and isn't spicy. This khanom jeen shop has received the Michelin Guide for six consecutive years, since  2020 to 2025.
