A Period of Mourning for the Thai People: Paying Respect and Tribute to the Queen Mother.

Thailand has lost Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, who passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025, at the age of 93. This news has brought profound sorrow to Thai people across the nation.

To pay respect and tribute following Her Majesty’s passing, the Bureau of the Royal Household has announced the period of mourning as follows:

  • Government officials and state employees: Mourning for 1 year
  • General public: Requested to avoid wearing bright or flashy colors for 90 days, or follow appropriate discretion
  • Lowering of national flags to half-mast: From October 25, 2025, for 30 days
  • Paying homage at the Royal Funeral: At Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall, Grand Palace, starting from October 27, 2025
