The fuel situation in Chiang Mai.

The impact of the Middle East war crisis has caused Thai people nationwide to worry about a potential fuel shortage. In many provinces, people have panicked and started hoarding fuel for use in cars, motorcycles, agriculture, and general business.

Chiang Mai Provincial Energy Office inspected stations in five districts: Mueang Chiang Mai, Saraphi, Mae Rim, San Sai, and San Kamphaeng District.

The inspection found that fuel stations were temporarily closed due to running out of all types of fuel or certain types, especially diesel, which had sold out quickly because of high demand. Some independent fuel stations have had to temporarily close because they ran out of fuel and the cost of the fuel they receive is higher than the retail price allowed at the pump. And some fuel stations have started controlling the amount of diesel fuel they dispense, such as limiting refills to no more than 1,000 baht per transaction or no more than 100 liters per vehicle.
